It's Just Those Rainy Days
With great travel comes the need for great flexibility (baha, thanks Spiderman's uncle, kinda). We all know the craziness that accompanies the joy of travel: missed flights (NOOOO, WHYYY, PLEASE NOOOO *drops to knees and shakes fist at the sky*), accommodations that look NOTHING like the pictures (is that blood on my sheets?! Sick.), food poisoning (just leave me here...to die) and getting lost in weird alleys ( CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME? ANYONE?)
Luckily, with the right mindset these misadventures can quickly become some of the greatest opportunities to bond with the people around you or see sights that were completely unplanned. This morning we planned an epic hike only to wake up to a barrage of rain. Still focused on our end goal, we attempted to begin the hike, slipping and sliding along the ridge. Realizing how unsafe this was, we turned back, hopped into the car with no clear destination in mind. We ended up pulling over to a beach that was completely deserted and embracing the beauty of a blustery, rainy morning.
