To Live Is An Awfully Big Adventure
Graduation was looming around the corner and instead of immediately jumping into graduate school or a job, one of my favorite college professors inspired me to travel abroad. I had done some research and settled on traveling to South Africa. While there, I decided to volunteer for a conservation effort to help rehabilitate the African Penguin.
First of all, I had no idea penguins existed in South Africa. Upon arrival to South Africa, I met with the leaders at SANCCOBB, the foundation for the relief effort to save the African Penguin. My job was to assist with admitting penguins that had been injured, found abandoned or trapped in an oil spill. The experience of handling penguins completely changed my life. After nursing penguins back to health, we were allowed to set them free back into the wild.
There are no words to describe that feeling. That trip inspired to me to go to veterinary technician school and to get board certified in veterinary technology. I love what I do and I love that I get to do it every day.

TL;DR I took a trip with my recent ex-boyfriend to Seattle and got so stoned that I lost my wallet right before the flight back home.
