May- Cecilia, You're Breakin' My Heart
The day finally arrived. Cece had been my roommate for the past two years in college and it was time to say goodbye. As I headed north to teach in Virginia, Cece set off for Denver to begin her veterinary adventures in a brand new city. Time passed and our distance grew significantly when I moved to Maui. To many relationships, that separation can be detrimental. For soul sistas, it merely strengthens the bond.
We have gotten creative in how to see each other over the years. I purposefully plan my layovers in Denver so I can enjoy 24 hours with a best friend. Once, Cece used her minimal time off to hop on a plane, to spend only FOUR jam packed days helping me explore my new home. Last year, we were able to blend friends and family in a wonderful adventure to Nicaragua. We talk when we can and our conversations usually revolve around a past trip or future trip. "Where are we going next?! Bali? Indo? Peru? Belize? Is it too soon to go back to Nicaragua?!"
With Cece, the possibilities are endless, but are all completely viable options. I know that she is open to going ANYWHERE and chatting with her about future trips is rejuvenating and energizing. She motivates me to start planning my next adventure, whether it's together or solo. I have loved hearing about her travels throughout the years, both international and local.
Cece seemed like an obvious choice as Seek Do Love's first Woman of the Month because she is the epitome of a realistic, giving explorer. Her journey's are vast and unique. She has travelled solo, for conservation purposes, with family and for friends. Thank you for agreeing to share your tales with us, Ceci, I know everyone will enjoy them as much as I have.
