Who Says You Can't Get Stoned
I absolutely LOVE planning trips and having something big to look forward to. It keeps me eager and hungry for adventure. That’s why when my boyfriend decided to go to PAX, an annual gaming festival in Seattle, I decided to go too. We booked our flights and the plan was to explore the city and adventure around for 4 days before the event started, at which point I would fly home and he would stay for the event.
A couple weeks before the trip, well... we broke up. Tragic, yes, but what now? Do I go to Seattle?? Try to get my money back?? Luckily, we remained friends and decided we would still do the trip. We booked a co-ed dorm style room in a hostel downtown, right next to the public market (The Green Tortoise, if anyone is interested). It worked out tremendously!
Our trip was shortly after the state of Washington had legalized weed. Some dispensaries were starting to pop up in Seattle so we decided to check it out. Neither of us are really into smoking all that much but just the possibility of legally doing so was alluring. We did a lot of what we liked to call, #urbanhiking and eventually completed the mission. We were ecstatic. The entire trip was such a blast and such a relief that we could remain good friends and follow through with this trip together.
We went to an amazing breakfast spot (Glo’s) suggested by a local sir on the bus. We visited all the different touristy spots such as the Space Needle, the EMP Museum, the Fremont Troll, Public Market, the Gum Wall, you name it! We also ventured through all of the different neighborhoods and we even did an underground tour of the city prior to the great fire of 1889. By the end of the trip we still had an enormous amount of weed left so of course we got enormously high.
We had to complete our mission of eating a Seattle dog (hot dog topped with cream cheese) so we urban hiked all over the city until we finally found a place. We went back for seconds, maybe even thirds… #munchies
All of a sudden it was time for me to go to the airport! We rushed back to the hostel and got all my stuff. Somehow my wallet was missing. I had had it with me of course… but it was gone and I had a plane to catch. I’ll leave it as a mystery as to how I got home, but I did… eventually. #thanksmom
The moral of the story is: Make the most out of every unfortunate situation you find yourself in.
TL;DR I took a trip with my recent ex-boyfriend to Seattle and got so stoned that I lost my wallet right before the flight back home. #coffeecapitaloftheworld #cityofflowers #emeraldcity #raincity
